Rear light Mod (3) (Upgrade to 2002 MY) 05/05/03

After the first trial fit it could be seen that the new fascia needed some modification. A small amount needed to be removed from the top either side of the number plate recess. The bottom near side corner needed to be made smaller. After this the fit was better but the fascia would move and the bottom of the number plate are and again around the lights if pushed. To solve this I fixed some new bolts at the bottom of the number plate section and either side of it.

Top edge removed and sanded to fit.
Nearside bottom cut down to size with some sanding left to do.
In oder to stop the movement 6mm bolts were welded to a plate with holes drilled (See inset). These were then attached at the necessary points. The top two line up with the old light bolts and so only the lower off center needed the body to be drilled.
Nuts and washers were put on the these new bolts beffore fitting. These could then be adjusted to give the correct distance before being bolted on from within the car. New lights etc test fitted. When trying this it was discovered that more of the body needed to be removed betwwen the old light hole and its indicator. If you left it you would not be able to change the bulb later.

Looking good dont you think?
