Front brakes mod (7) 12/04/04

Left side old brake hose was a real pain to get off as the nut had corroded to the metal pipework. Involved a squirt of WD40, thena wiggle, then another squirt of WD40 etc. Took almost 2 hours but eventually came lose. You must be very careful when doing this as you do not want to break or crush the metal pipe.
SS braided hose and mounting bracket fitted using the new bolts surplied. Bracket done to 50ftlb (67nm).
A small amount of grease was applied to the shaft. The inner and outer barings were cleaned and new grease applied before sliding the hub back on. Outer bearing was also cleaned and re fitted (Narrow side in) followed by the washer and nut. The hole thing was done up until the hub would not rorate to ensure the bareings were sitting correctly. The nut is then slackened off and redone until the hub spins freely but no movement could be felt when rocking the disc.
Nut holder and new split pin were fitted. I found the new pins were much longer and needed to be set like so to fit.
